Had a chance to try out a friends Sig Sauer today, what a blast. Shot both 223 and 5.56, noticed the later where a bit 'hotter'. I noticed this more from sitting beside the gun while someone else was shooting, because this gun has zero recoil. Well not zero but i was very surprised with how little recoil this particular gun had. An absolutely wonderful machine.

Hopefully i can find a deal or 2 at Tradex! A Shadow and an AR for spring time fun!

As soon as I finished the first 5, I was 'shti, now I have to buy one'!

That's always how it starts. You're kind of iffy about it but think it looks cool. A buddy let's you shoot one and you realize that after 30 seconds of being shown how to use it that it feels like you were born shooting one. Super fast handling as well.

You better buy a very large gun safe. You'll want the best overall one and tell yourself that's it. Then there will be the plain Jane one that is a really good deal, a target version, a SBR shorty, a piston version, an intermediate accuracy version etc. You may convince yourself you will just buy uppers. But then you'll convince youself to get a lower for those uppers. Then you'll see a lower you just can't pass up. How Lon do you figure until you start looking for the upper. Next, hmmm I can slowly order parts and build my own!!! The ultimate addict will have also stubled upon the AR10.

Congrats and welcome to the addiction!!

I was going to say "once you go black you will never go back" but the first AR15 I ever shot was my own...
I do enjoy it though, i'm glad you had fun with and and i'm sure you will find one to your liking aswell.

In the first picture, your front hand, where does that shooting grip come from? I noticed a buddy of mine doing it while trying out my AR but aside from that I haven’t seen anyone do it. Well I have done it when my hand guard is too hot to hold, but that’s a different story. I dunno, my buddy was in the US Military and he is an avid hunter, I was always curious if he picked it up some place and never got a chance to ask him.

Until October last year I had held maybe 2 rifles in my life. I'm sure it's not the proper way to support the rifle but it feels natural.

Its an older method that came about with guys teaching the HK sub gun technique for shooting the M4 series.
