I have the same cabelas picnic table but its too low for me.

Had the same issue with the wokemate I used. The CT table fixed that. The folding bench isn't a bad idea but it's not exactly handy if you don't have a truck. Still it's interesting to see what some of us have come up with.

I use a basic folding resin table I got at Costco for $99 then sit on a giant lidded tupperware I put all my outdoor targets in. It all stashes well in my Jeep, makes bush shooting compact.

I've got one of these, but its nowhere near stable enough. Fire a strong-recoiling rifle from it and you feel like you are gonna fall right over lol

I also prefer to sit beside the table, rather than behind it, which is awkward with one of these.

A bipod is less than 200$, portable and likely will be more stable than a portable table?

Bipods have their own list of problems though. Like nowhere for a rear bag, good ones aren't cheap, you need a really tall one to shoot it while sitting in a chair... the list goes on. Besides, a lot of people use the bench for sighting in, then switch to other positions like standing and kneeling for real-world practice in the sorta positions you would encounter while hunting. If I dont hunt with a bipod, I dont want it hanging off the end of my rifle while Im practicing either.

A bipod is a good option and much more stable than a cheap, light, portable plastic table.

The rear bag goes under the butt stock......the same place as if on a table?.......
You can get a Harris for about 100$ (A lot less than a suitable table) and it works great for me out past 1000 yards.......
Why would you consider getting one tall enough to shoot out of a chair? Lol
Shooting from a bipod may very well be a real world hunting position for many people
People use a bench for sighting in and then practice from other positions? Oh really, thanks for that information. Had no idea.....
You probably don't hunt with a table hanging off the end of your rifle either and a bipod is easily removed or carried in your pack if you don't want it on while hunting........

But please, continue with the list of problems.

What's this got to do with the OP? Who said anything about taking a table hunting? This is sharing what those of us who DO use portable table use, regardless of what for. Don't like, troll somewhere else.

Read through suther's rediculous response to see what it's all about.

I've been on here for almost 7 years with like 600 posts. Just trying to offer realistic opinions on things and be helpful. Does that seem like trolling?

I've read all the replies. Lets just say it seems like you had a long day before you posted. The trolling comment is based on this; "But please, continue with the list of problems." That's trolling.

Your original comment was fine. I use bipods, sand bags, fence posts, etc. Just depends on what I'm doing and where I am. Others can't stand them. At least a table gives you room to work when setting up a rifle or tweaking it. I use a bipod or sand bags along with a table when sighting in or target shooting in the bush. I've used camping chairs in the past but use an old adjustable stool now as it's lower. Winter, wet or fresh turned fields make prone or off-hand not as much fun and I like a dry/clean seat. :)

The table I noted is metal, sturdy, and high enough even for a tall person, depending on the seat hight. It's also useful for other things besides being a rest. I'm not keen on the plastic table either but for someone else it might fit the bill. The flip up bench/table looks better but is far to big to fit in my car to be useful, but if I had a pickup I could see it working.
