Just wondering what the real dif is between the 2 barrels ? Is one better than the other or ?. Just started hunting deer with shotgun for the first time and have an unported barrel so wondering if there's any advantage from one or the other ?
Thanks !

I have a ported barrel on my 20g slug gun and it does keep the barrel down when I shoot.it doesn't jump as much .Dutch

I don't believe you'll find much difference in the 2 barrels except the ported one will be louder. Accuracywise it will likely depend on the individual barrel. The porting is supposed to keep your muzzle rise down and supposedly reduce felt recoil by venting the gas upwards. My Browning 725 is ported and I don't really notice any benefits to the porting. If my barrel wasn't ported I wouldn't go looking for one that was. Take your shotgun with the non ported barrel and go hunting. Cheers. Bac4
