POS - Lee Zip Trim and Universal Head

You do realize, of course, that this thread is going to make it hard to sell that zip-thingy on the EE. :D

I just chuck the Lee trimmers in a drill which is held in place in a padded vise.

Return it, if it is crap both the vendor and LEE should make good. If your dealer wont do anything write LEE a letter, and tell them why you are unhappy they will make good, I hope, If not let us know.

Use a drill press. Get the cheap little ones for less than $50 ;) :D

Chuck the cutter and guage in the press.

Hold the lock nut and brass in your hand.

I bought a Redding unit with a whack of pilots, never use it.

Cheers

Not sure if your kidding or not. ;)
Its extremely fast for trimming. I used to throw in a bronze brush in the chuck for cleaning inside the necks but I plan on chemical cleaning for the important brass and the plinking stuff doesn't need to be clean.

I actually throw a piece of plywood over my deep freezer and do this downstairs. All those brass shavings makes a hell of a mess in the kitchen

I use the same setup now for most trimming, except I don't hold the case in the holder. I hold the case with my hand and let the trim-length rod hit the table when correct length is achieved. I have also used the Lyman drill press trimmer quite a bit, this Lee system is faster and cheaper.

I can't believe it, I said something nice about Lee!
