I purchased an IOR tactical scope 9-36 x 56mm, with a 35mm tube, low rings, and base from IOR thru Peter Dobson, who many of you know as a member of this form.

I have had the scope for a year and a half, used it this summer for 1000 yard matches, and I just love it! I also have a Nightforce Benchrest 8-32 x 56 and have found that my IOR is better, although the NF scope is great as well.

This fall I noticed that the scope lost focus after each shot, and eventually did not seem to hold zero. I spoke to Peter, who immediately told me to send it back to him. After a 4 week wait at US customs it arrived at IOR in Littelton CO. I spoke to both Val and Scott who are great guys but I admit I was nervous given the fact that I had owned it for a year and a half.

2 weeks later Scott told me that he would replace the scope with a new one! That was 3 days ago, today Peter Dobson tells me that the scope has arrived in his shop!

I have heard a lot of IOR bashing, especially over questions of service, but having dealt with them thru Peter, I can only say I am totally amazed at the treatment I have recieved.

Thanks again, Peter, Val and Scott!

I can only be happy for the products that never need repair, and so far all my IORs are performing admirably.

I'm glad the problems with their customer service are a thing of the past. I have heard the same from the US users... it seems Val has finally reached a good point.

I agree that it is best that they not fail, but a vendors real worth comes thru when there are problems, not when everything works.

we are -in a good way this time - special.
Most scopes that bear a lifetime warranty in North America, have only 1 or 2 years warranty in Europe. To buy a scope there is a nightmare.

IOR appears to be doing better which one would expect, but given their long history of production it is bit surprising they were having problems to begin with. More volume, more revenue does wonders. However prices appear to rising as well....which is the unfortunate part but likely a necessity.

Perhaps one day we will see IOR move ahead of Nightforce. Interestingly I suspect Nightforce isn't likely to remain idle too long....

I would love to get to be a tester for the new IOR scope with the Huge main tube!!!I would also like to see Nightforce make a 20 or 40MOA per turn Knob with a Zero stop on there next NXS line!!
