I received the attached as part of a mailing from the Vang Comp list I'm on, with regard to the 870's being produced by the "new" Remington:
"It's no secret that Vang Comp has not been a fan of the 870 "Express" line of shotguns.
In the "Freedom Group" days there was so much wrong with the Express 870 shotguns that you needed to get the shotgun to a gunsmith just to make it function properly.
These are not those shotguns.
These shotguns came in on a pallet (actually, two) from the new Remington. RemArms.
We were nervous when we first opened that very top shotgun but we were pleasantly surprised when we opened the box and found a nicely assembled shotgun.
We could work with these.
So we got to work, visually and physically inspecting 57 different components of the assembly.
All these guns needed was a little bit of TLC, so we performed a reliability service and inspection.
And a few more finishing touches to make them feel great out of the box and work reliably for a long, long time."
Things appear to be looking up!
