It is offset so I can use the strip and the shell wouldn't hit it.

Shot it on 50 yard...still can't believe it.

Sweet jesus, what a rig you've got on the side of the SKS. I'd like to see some targets from when you were shooting with the iron sights to compare.

On Sunday , mine almost did your 50 yard group but I had one flyer a little farther out than yours ( williams sights - cold gun , I could not duplicate after the first 5 )
I'd also love to see a closer picture of the scope mount , from both sides .
Who makes it and where did you get it ?

guys....on the site www.kalinkaoptics.com you can find lots of russian scopes and rails for them :))))
this company is in the USA, and they ship to Canada with no problems....
good luck

P.S.: this page is about SKS railing....but it is in Russian....but if you take a look at pictures, you will get the idea.....

I have the same setup sitting on my workbench waiting for me to mount it on my sks :( The POSP russian mount is very good quality, Ill post detailed pics of it when I finally get around to mounting it. Ill be putting my kobra red dot on mine :) (also very good quality stuff)

I will say that kalinkaoptical is a great company to deal with, I wouldnt hesitate to buy from them atain

Pilgrim, nice link. mine is done in the same way. Only difference is I used a "L" sharp alum instead of the plain plate that used by the them. So, my scope sit lower and on the further left side. The reason to that is I don't want to remove too much wood and I want to use the iron sight at same time.

Very nice set up. How is shooting with that scope offset? How are the optics? Holding zero? turrent adjustments?

I have played with a couple of Kalinka scopes. Nice useable optics but very dim (poor coatings). So far, limited use has shown them to hold their zero and I love those etched glass reticles.

Inspiration to put something new on that SKS.

As I said before, looks good if it shoots well. As of rails on L-shape... I'd rather stay away from these. Personally I don't like POSPs with integrated mounts, especially IMHO there are better options around...

Pilgrim
"..especially if this scope is designed for 100-400m 7.62x39 shooting....."
I guess you mean 7.62x54R, right? There was no service rifles in 7.62x39 meant to be scoped.

Some of the scopes from kalinka are cammed for 7.62x39mm... esp. the 4 power POSP scopes. Some of the 6 power and 8 power are 7.62x39 and the rest are for the 7.62x54.

Rollingrock, you are wrong. It is sooooo ###y with that scope....I just loooooove it...For me, it's much better because I am the problem....not bad for a guy with 2 month of shooting history so far...:)

V1: Pilgrim is correct...it is for 7.62x39...take me a while to shoot this pic...

Yes it's kalinka, 4x, USD119 something....service is good. The scope hold zero without any problem. turrent adjustments is good too....

I have trigger control problem and I am working on it.
