There was just a stop sale issued today at the Canadian tire I work at. Reason is for regulatory issues.
I assume this is the same for all Canadian tires.
We have been told to stop sale and remove product from the shelf immediately.
This is coming from Cts head office.
I don't know if this is the governments doing or not just though I would let people know.
 
Maybe it has something to do with the issue over Russia and the Ukraine ; and the importation santions......but who knows , maybe the mag well was not properly pinned , and the SKSs need to be double checked....?

Could be related to the mag well. I know of one recent issue with a young shooter getting pinched by the RCMP for having an unpinned SKS. Word is the SKS in question was unmodified from retail purchase.
 
So don't buy from them. Its is CT policy to record PAL info on ammos buys too.

When you see our tried and true CGN sponsoring vendors pull the SKS ads, then you know there's a problem.

^^^Well, 3 days ago I finally decided that no self respecting Canadian gun owner should be with out at least 1 SKS in their collection...so I added one to mine and officially joined the SKS club...Bubba Style!! :)

Glad I did!

This must just be at certain stores, at mine they only ever look at the card to make sure its valid, they've never recorded my info for firearms or ammo.
 
This is very interesting indeed ,and quite bizzare.I was at my local CT yesterday AM to buy some ammo and they had 2 Russian SKSs and 3 Mosins.

Went back today after reading this post, and sure enough ,they were both gone !!!!!! (the mosins were still there)

I doubt very much they were sold in the course of the following day ,as they have been on the rack for weeks.

Sooooooooooooooo..there you go ,the news from Winnipeg.

I sure hope its not because the mag were not pinned, all hell will break loose, babies will die, anarchy will reign and the end is near... 5 more bullets and society as we know it will cease to exist

-That was me practicing to be Wendy Cukier for Halloween.... gotta go, need to learn to ride a broom
