Odd question, but I figured someone here must know. During a hike over sandy/small gravel ground today in a rural area I noticed several 'heaps' where sand had been pulled together to form an almost pyramid.
By about the third in 500m I decided to kick one open, and found scat inside (that will teach me, pooh on my shoe). Anyway the size was about coyote, and was a tan/yellowish colour.
I have never seen a such neat little pile to cover feces.
Is this Lynx or Bobcat?

I have seen game that they have 'buried' or covered, but didn't know they would do something like this on sand, or is it another animal all together?

The way it was buried made me think cat, but your right, how often do you see sandy areas out there. This happens to be an abandoned railway bed.
