So, any ideas? I've given up on the LR hunter idea for the .338 and made a .300 win for that. While the factory set up is perfectly functional, I was looking at a replacement. Cadex? APO? KRG?
Thoughts?

Im looking into roughly the same thing and have been leaning more towards the KRG myself. Do you have any information on the APO system as I have never heard of it.

Ashbury Precision Ordnance make three chassis, and for the Mod 1 they do list the Sako TRG 42 as a supported action. http://www.ashburyprecisionordnance.com/saber-mod-1/?expandable=0

The TRG is perfection. If something isn't optimal, it is you. I suggest reconstructive surgery to make you fit the gun. :D

Curseyou; you aren't entirely wrong! I'm not a huge fan of the rear stock because I am a large guy, I like being able to fit the gun without 500 dollar spacers LOL. Also, trigger length of pull and a 40moa rail would be nice for it. Lastly looks are not entirely out of the question ;)
Cheers!

I would go KRG W3. When they designed the stock they were trying to emulate that TRG so the ergos should be familiar to you but with the adjustments you want.

You also get to use AICS mags so you get away from paying $350 to $400 a Mag.

I had an older KRG W3 and they are very well made.

I cant stand KRG/sako stock ergos I would be looking at any option that would get you away from those lol. The KRG design seems to have too many pieces for my liking, not sure why they couldnt have integrated the forend and the bedding block as one piece? The APO do look quite nice. Are you stuck on a chassis? Mcmillan A5 ect may be an option? Anything that gets away from sako factory mags is a big plus in my books as well.

XLR also makes the Evo HD to fit the TRG-42 and will be set up to take AICS mags. Another option.
I would probably go XLR if I was looking for something different becasue it would fit into my budget better. That being said, if I didn't care about weight and I had the cash I would go for the Cadex Dual strike.
