Possible Stupid Registration Question

Hey I am pretty new to gun ownership. I just got my first resgistraions for a few rifles. There are 4 registrations printed on the sheet they sent. My question is do I cut out the registrations from this sheet? I assume I would since my understanding is the registration should be with the gun, correct? Any unless I want to take all 4 guns with me it would be kinda hard to keep the gun with the registrations.

I know its a bit of a dumb question. I just don't want to be in the wrong.

Photocopy and take the copy with you. I put all my copies on one sheet and just grab the sheet whenever I take a gun out, that way I have them all. No mistakes as to which I have, and never have to dig around looking for the right one.

I cut mine out & then put each one in a laminate.
I get the self stick ( no heat ) laminates at the $ store. Ten in a pack.

BTW. It is not a stupid question.

I have the originals locked up in one spot (unsnipped original pages),
photocopies in my wallet cut into their card size [a debateable practice, obviously I don't own 200 firearms],
photocopies in each of my gun cases, along with a printout of the transport regulations,
photocopies in the gun safe, along with my will and some statements about the firearms rights of an executor and instructions to the police not to seize them.

I didn't laminate them.

Thanks guys for the input. Right now I have the originals in a safe place along with 2 copies where they are stored. So it sounds like I'm ok.

Beware!
Photocopies are good...depending on where you live. I got harrassed by a cop for having photocopies of my registration (I live in Quebec...the anti-guns province). They let me go (after waiting 1h00 for the supervisor to come by and double check every thing up) but the supervisor told me the registration paper (in Quebec anyway) needs to be original and unaltered. After a call at CFO, they told me I was allowed to laminate them but when i told them what happen they said to stick with what the cop told me!!!!

Interesting. Remember, the RCMP say the long gun registry is 4.1 million dollars a year, and only $1.1 million in envelopes.
Since they wear out in my wallet every year (not laminated), does that mean I need to request 4 copies of each registration certificate to be mailed to me each year?

I agree with the guys above. The originals are in the safe and a copy is in my ammo box for the non restricteds. The coppies for all of my restricteds are in my transport cases with a copy of my att.

My feeling is that it is better to get a copy mesed up from rain or just being in the case than the original. If a copy gets messed up I just make another copy. Pretty simple.

I would ask for copy before they decide to charge for it!
