I think this might be an interesting thread. Too bad no one responded.

No one wants to talk about trigger slack, long travel in DA, over travel, etc etc?
 
Kimber TLE RLII, 3.0lbs Travel is short approx .2ish reset is a flinch, thinking of making it lighter like 2.0

Not sure on the travels.
HK USP CS, 3.5lbs SA, over 7.0lbs DA But the DA is getting lighter I noticed the more I use it, or its getting smoother.

Desert Eagle I forgot but its light maybe 4ish?
 
What about trigger slack complaints, particularly on DA/SA combat pistols? Anyone have issues? For example, Berettas and Sig Sauers have quite a bit of trigger slack in both DA and SA but I reckon they are at least well defined.
 
When I first got my HK the trigger seemed sloppy and disconnected (first DA gun I had) but I've gotten used to it, I dont care for the long trigger reset, but the single action is really nice the pull is smooth and light and breaks good too. The double action gets better and better the more i use it, now only if I could get the reset a lil shorter it would be great.
 
Winz, it's funny you should mention the Beretta as that's the first thing I noticed about my Vertec when I got it. I pulled the trigger back, back, BACK, FURTHER BACK, finally it went click boom. It's taken some getting used to and I've had to be really aware of where my finger is on the trigger as bad position has lead to getting part of my finger caught behind the trigger, causing a lack of click boom.

2lbs 10 oz pull, travel is .080", .030" pre-travel, .050" reset

STI Edge
~4 lbs pull, travel is .090", .040" pre-travel, .050" reset

Para uses SVI trigger components, both have trigger overtravel screws.

:eek: Uh, not sure what the last part meant but doesn't sound good...finger caught behind the trigger? As for having to be aware of the trigger position, that sounds like a need for some trigger work...more so than a Ruger :D
That no doubt must be distressing, pulling back and not feeling exactly when it will go boom but assuming it based on where your finger is.

Never experienced that on a Beretta...more that the trigger has a long pull and quite a bit of slack before the trigger engages business. Sig Sauers also quite a bit of slack, but it's defined in a way of just picking up the trigger slack, squeeze the trigger and it breaks smoothly. Of course, huge contrast to something like a Sphinx straight bar trigger that's more akin to breaking a chemistry lab capillary tube :) (But totally different purpose of gun anyway)
 
Sorry, I phrased that really poorly. It was more of a youthful ignorance about where to put your trigger finger on the trigger when firing. If I put the 2nd pad of my trigger finger on the trigger and tried to fire, I couldn't get the trigger to come back far enough (with all the travel) to fire. When I put the 1st pad of my trigger finger on the trigger and tried to fire, all went well.
 
My old trusty, rusty Norinco 45 is 3lbs 12oz.

My Norinco 38Super single stack race gun is 2lbs 4oz.

Finally my Norinco double stack race gun (which I have just about finished) is 1lb 6oz.

Length of pull on all of them is .085" with .045" reset.
