As some of you are aware, I had been running postal matches here on CGN for a few months, but just temporarily "shut them down" through January and this month due to the colder temperatures, the accumilation of snow, ect, but now that spring is comming I am planning to start up the postal matches starting march :)

The shoots that will be taking place will probably again be:

- 25 yard offhand (fun match)
- 50 Yard unlimited
- 50 Yard Open Sights
- 100 yard unlimited

Unlimited refers to the type of class. Meaning, any scope may be used, and gun, ammo, rests, ect as long as the gun is rimfire.

For those who havn't ever shot the postal matches before they are a lot of fun and I encourage you to shoot in them :) :). And for those who have shot them I hope to see your scores in the upcoming months.

Best Regards,
Jordan

I'm in....

hopefully we will have more participants this year... there's a couple guys who tricked out thier 10/22 the last couple months, it would be only fair to the rifle to join in the little friendly compitition:evil:

I think there'd be more participants if there were different categories of shooters abilities. For example "average" or "expert". I know it's no contest and it's just for fun but not everyone has the match shooting ability, or the equipment to put all the bullets in the same hole at 50 yards.

Thanks for the input :)

Goose 25: Thanks! It would be nice if some guys who have "tricked out" there 10/22's could join in.

22lr: No it is not http://www.uspalma.com/Targets/PDFs/75FT NRA.pdf

That is the target that was beeing used for the 25 yard unlimited (10 shots at each target.

K98: That is a good idea. Maybe for each match we could divide them into different catagories. I was thinking sporter and Custom. Sporter beeing any old cooey or anything like that, up to a gun like a CZ. And a gun like a Winchester 52, or an anschutz, ect could be put into the custom cattagorie. We would all be shooting the same target but would be competing only against the shooter/gun in your category.

haha, the gun is heavyer now, and ever sence i got my pistols i have fallen out of practice, so i supose id better start again. id like to get a better sling now, and im thinking about getting some peep sites, although i cant seem to find much out there. (found tech sites, but need to find an adaptor for front site)
i guess i should also find some better ammo now to.
any idea when you will be starting these?

Joe

another question - what rules are? Wouldn't hurt to re-post rules once again. Say, is there an observer required or is it just honour system?

Honour system.

This thread was just intended to let everyone know when the matches will be starting up. A few days prior to march I will set up the rules again and we can post our scores into that thread :)

Sounds good Ardent

Yes they will.

I have been working on the rules a bit lately, just to make them a bit more easy to understand.

In maybe 5 days or so I will post the rules for all the matches so that everyone can become farmiliar with them before the matches start, and then when march comes along I will start up another thread where everybody can post their scores.

March? LOL. There'll still be 4 feet of snow here and minus 20 temps at the outdoor range. Fine if you live in B.C. or Southern Ontario I suppose. :p
I'll see what the middle of April brings.

K98: Sorry to hear its still cccoooollllddd in Manitoba (as it would be in Alberta, Sakatchewan, ect).

We will see what the March match brings us. Maybe the numbers won't be to good for the match, but at least everybody can see what its all about and maybe join in in April or May.

Just another thought. In October/November, ect when I was running the matches I would run them over a period of two months. This means that you had up to two months to shoot the target and report your score. I just would like to hear some feedback on if you guys think we should run the matches over a period of two months consecutively (so that would mean March/april, May/June, ect) of if I should run the matches over a period of one month and then start a new thread to put your scores the next month.
