I took apart a bunch of ammo that I bought at an estate sale and kept the brass and bullets. After the bullets were removed I had over a pound of disposable powder. My son and me took it and put it on a paper towel and set it in the yard on a snowbank. It makes a good roaring sound and sends a flame about five feet tall and about three feet wide. It doesn't last long but it leaves a longer lasting smile....:D

Bullseye(most of a pound) give a tower of fire 10 feet plus high. Had it in a clay ash tray that kept the colume the same diameter as the ash tray.

Buddy of mine took a shotgun shell apart as a kid. Dumped the powder in an ashtray. His Mom sat down, lit a cigarette , put it in the ashtray........and shortly afterwards had to change her knickers.

makes really good fertiliser on the lawn or in the flowerbed as well. Burning it is much more fun, especially when impressing your son.

Good idea to dispose of powder that you are unsure of.

"...so that it falls into the fire...WHOOOF..." Coffee whitener does that.
"...disappointed with the flames..." Must have been old and well deteriorated.

Now can you picture a "Just for Laughs" episode with that in some cigar club? That would be so funny! :D

I've got a good little bit of pulled powder in the works now. A mix of who know what from live rounds picked up at the range after pistol matches.

Last burn off didn't take much to get a flame 6' or so high. As they say a little goes a long way. :D
