Powder choices for .338 Lapua Magnum

I am using Retumbo with 285gr AMAXs, 92.5gr at a coal of 3.73, and its a hammer in both of my 338s. I have used H1000 and didn't seem to be great for me. Had a fantastic load using US869 in my MRAD in 338 as well.
Point is, need to try and see powder what your gun likes. Bullets too. It's expensive to experiment for 338, but to throw 5$ bills downrange and miss stuff really sucks too.

I like the IMR7977 and retumbo in my 338 AI give me similar result for my first testings I have to go deeper next time to have a clear winner but should be close
I have to see with is better for the different bullets I have in hand 250-285 and 300gr pills

Those should fit into what you want for burn rate.

I have tested 7828, H-1000 and Retumbo , settling on Retumbo.

There are a few not listed as new product is always coming out.Could maybe go a tad faster then I have listed if going with lighter bullets.

I am running the 338 Lapua Improved, but found that Retumbo is the ticket. I worked with US869 for a while but found it to give big temperature swings. Like 100fps on 20 degrees so I switched. Retumbo has been very stable and produce EXCELLENT accuracy and consistency. I am getting 2970fps on my Berger 300gr with 97.5gr and 2940fps with my Scenar 300gr with the exact same charge and a slightly different seating depth. Both are hammers out to a mile plus. Better luck with the Scenars though.

Was thinking about trying the IMR 7977 but I have lots of Retumbo and it is shooting 1/3moa so why mess with it?

I am going to use Retumbo with berger 300gn projectiles. Main reason is that I can burn it up in my hunting rifle (7mm rem mag) if my 338 doesn't like it.
