always wanted to try casting my own bullets, now finding it hard to source bullets for my lee enfield i thought it would give me a good reason to start making them
done the research on this fine forum and as i'm concerned for leading, with uncoated bullets, so am i concerned with bullet performance on large animals once they are coated, has anyone used powder coated bullets on let's say deer or moose? are you happy with the results?

A 311041 lyman bullet, PC coated, checked, sized and hollow pointed account for a cast bullet harvest this year.....Doe whitetail, with an old 336 Marlin 30-30 at about 40 yards, bang-flop.
The entry and exit was through and though so I didn't get the expansion I expected from HP'ing.......need to work on my alloy. I'm happy with results, so far.....the experimenting continues

lead bullets are fine for hunting. they were the standard at one time.

powder coating seems to preform very well, though I read about people having accuracy issues over 2000fps. your millieage may vary, and castboolits is a great resource for all projectile type things powdercoated.
