I was given some 30.06 rounds with a rifle recently. I sold the rifle to someone by shipping so the ammo stayed with me. It was well marked but, I knew it was a special load for that rifle. I unloaded the rounds but am not positive the powder is what was told. I am wondering how you dispose of it. It is a small amount about 200 grains. Also while unloading these rounds one round got knocked down here went 48 grains into the carpet. Will it cause a problem to vacuum it up? Thank you.

Lots of nitrogen. Good for plants/the lawn. Make sure you spread it out though if you just dump it in a pile it'll burn the grass and leave a brown patch in your lawn.

It's not nitro-glycerine, Man. Burn it, fertilize with it, throw it out, vacuum it, whatever. No big deal.;)

x2 burn it, who doesn't like the smell of burning gun powder.

Powder is also fine to vacuum, it gets caught by the filter before it gets a chance to go through the fan/motor.

There was a Mythbusters episode where they tried to get gunpowder (blackpowder) to explode by vacuuming it up a couple pounds at a time. They tried all sorts of ways including shorting a wire etc. nothing.

Make a couple lines with it and have a race with a buddy to see which one burns out first. :)
