I just got a new Stevens in .25-06, and am thinking about getting back into reloading. I plan on shooting one bullet for whitetails and coyotes, so a 115 to 120g would be my choice. What powder would be best to start with, and while we are at it what bullet? Thanks in advance.

As an accuracy load in their manual, Sierra's lists 50.5grs of RE-22 with their 117gr. SPT and 120gr. HPBT. Not too long ago I purchased a Savage 112 BVSS in .25-06 and a few powders that have worked well for me with the 117gr. Sierra's are IMR 4320, IMR 4831 but best of all so far is IMR 4350.

25-06

The 25-06AI I've got now likes the 110 grn. Nosler Accubond over RE22. If that combination didn't worked out I'd try the 100 grn. Barnes TSX next.

H4831 or RL22 would be my pick for a powder with the deer load, with H4350 or RL19 for the lighter load. Try Any of those I listed will work for any bullet weight, if you'd like to keep it simple and use one powder for both loads

Id pick the 110 grain Nosler Accubond for deer and a 85 grain Ballistic Tip for yotes. Both bullets shot excellent in my 25-284 I had which is very similar to a 25-06. I used H4831sc for both loads and it worked great.

I'd be interested to know too, specifically, the following loads for 25-06 if loaded with H4831:

115gr TSX
100gr MatchKing
75gr VMax

Anybody have some good load data to share in this regard?
