Hi all, I just picked up a Pro Hunter (28") bbl for my Encore and was wondering if anyone loads for the same bbl. If so, what powder or loads are most ideal. My intentions are to stick with 130gr boolits, Thanks in advance
Yes, it seems that IMR 4350 & 4831 are the powders of choice, this is what a fella from the US says; "140 gr. Sierra boat tail pushed by 55.5 gr. IMR 4831 and 200 CCI primer this is what it does at 100 yards. I was shooting off of sand bags forend nothing but shoulder on back. I think I've found my deer killing load. Don't tell me Thompson can't build a 28" shooter cause I couldn't be happier since I have 200 rounds loaded it was my Winchester model 54 favorite. What do you think is it ok?"
This is his group, 3 shots at 100yds ,

If I can get these results with a 130gr boolit I'll be happy!!
