Powder for reloading .223 55gr. FMJs

I have been using Ball-C2 for a while
for my .223 55gr FMJs.
(Bought quite a bit before Y2K)
I like to load on the hotter side of things,
feeding an AR shorty.

What other powders and loads are you using?

I've been using 21-22 gr of H335 to start for all the Hornady 55 & 60 gr bullets (2.200" col). Still got 7 lbs (my excuse was zombies)

It meters like water. It loves any bullet 60 gr and under.

ww748 as well- 25 grains or slightly better

26.5 grains (748) works really well in my gun using the 55 gr. fmj. Same load works well in my son's gun also. No pressure signs, good accuracy.

For really accurate loadings for gophers, etc. I use IMR 4895. It has proven very consistent and very accurate when used with match primers.

I just bought some and was going to load based on H335 - 5% . How much do you use under 55gr FMJ BT ?

Here's mine.

55 gr. SP and also 55 gr. Sierra HPBT bullets with 25.8 gr. of 748 powder. I use this load with both my heavy barrel Savage model 12 and my AR-15 and get excellent accuracy. Average MV is 2880 fps. Here's the result with the Savage. I'm sure if I did my part better the group could be tighter.
