I bought my first one. Every one after that I made myself.
Not the prettiest job, but they do tend to look "oldish" :)
I've been working on one for a friend (for several years now...:) ); a really nice white and black cow horn that will have his name and a "scrimshawed" inscription on it. Maybe this will inspire me to get it finished, and suprise him with it. I'm sure he's forgotten about it long ago :)
A great reference book for making powder horns is "The Book of Buckskinning, Vol.2". It includes the "classical" period style of horn. Some of them are truly works of art, and they were made in the 1700's!

Yeah, I was impressed with the scrimshawed horns with the maps of the late 1700's "Pennsylvania" or Ohio scenes, nice stuff.
