Were are manitobians getting there powder these days looking for 4 lb jugs of the 223 stuff.cabelas is out benchmark,varget,322,r15 8208.

D8208BR is faster burning than IMR 8208xbr that I've used. No worries, just reduce load and work up. It performs great

During times of poor supply, it's foolish to pass on powder when you can get it. I recently picked up 10lbs more Dominion for this reason

My observations and of my buddies using the D powder, is they are all faster than the original canister grade.
No problem, we just worked down our loads , to get back in the accuracy node we were seeking.

Then it shoot great. No difference in accuracy, velocity (adjusted ) and pressure signs once this is done.
The old note to start low and work up is the way to do it with the D powder, since they are bulk and will vary from can to can, if you obtain different lot number.

IMR8208 work great in .223 and D8208 is made to be used as a substitute. Reason of the designation of each, such as D5744, D4064 ect..

D8208 is faster, but work up your load. Do not substitute IMR8208 load data - grains for grains. Start at the min.
Stop when max velocity for a given IMR load is reached, or better when you get the accuracy you seek, usually found below max.

I just wish they were making D Varget..:)

Interesting, might have to give it a try,was trying to stick with known loads this year, heading up north to visit family multiple times this summer.so going to be shooting a lot of 600 yards.my range is 300 yrds the bush up north is 100,000 yards.but next summer I won't mind doing a lot of p#ssing around at the loading table.

I went thru the dominion posts, saw only a few 8208 223 posts,I think I mite just pull the trigger on it,if they had 30mm rings or sierra 77 or 69 bullets it would be a done deal.
