G'day fellas,

I just want to make sure I have been doing things correctly. I have a Dillon eliminator balance beam scale. The empty powder dish, and the hanging tray togethger have a mass of .8gr. So, if I want 6gr powder, my scale should balance at 6.8gr correct?

Thanks!
Jeff

Don't know about Dillon, but I adjust my scales so that they read "0" with an empty pan. I want 46 of varget, I set the scale for 46 grains.

IIRC you can zero the scale.

NO that is incorrect! You put the pan on the scale. Zero it and then set the charge you want.

You want to set your scale up on a nice flat level solid surface, then mark the corners just in case. There should be a rotary wheel or screw under the level indicator so you can adjust the height to zero the scale with the pan on.

first i've ever heard of not having the pan on the scale- even the electronic ones i have tell you to put the pan on the surface empty( and friggin clean- these electronic ones are fussy) and then ZERO THE SCALE-

Don't just zero it once, zero it every time you start reloading. It only takes a second or two.

Jeff you might want to contact somebody in your area to walk you throught the reloading process. You will feel much better and at the end of the day you will have all your fingers attached to your hand.

Take Care

The left hand leg/foot is adjustable up and down (the white foot). Make sure you are on a level surface, put the pan on the scale and then zero it by raising or lowering the left hand leg/foot.
