Powder shortages over??

I saw a post on here from one of the dealers where they had a bunch of powders in stock, most in the $50-65 range, very close to early 2020 prices.

So hopefully the end is near. Would be even better if we can get some god damn LRP...

Good to see. Has anyone seen press releases about primers from CCI, Federal etc? They seem widely available on their websites but obviously don't ship to Canada. Why can't our importers get them into stores?

All the "1lb of varget for 1000 large rifle primers" ads are seeing a lot of bumps. Powder becoming more available, primers... Not so much :(

Word from my lgs says Federal bought CCI and is using the primers in factory ammo. Apparently no availability for 8 months, and then ordering can begin.

Federal bought CCI the company, or they just placed a order for everything CCI can produce? Either way, sounds fishy that it wouldn't be widely known and wouldn't explain why their websites are still fully stocked for ordering (if American) or how it's going for Winchester or Remington.

When I see Reloader 22, RL26 and other reloader powders in stock then I will believe the shortage is over. Still like unicorns to find.

Agree. Alliance powders are still very scarce. - dan

Something I observed (at least with the retailers I deal with), is that Alliant powders were "in stock" for longer than Hodgdon/IMR... this is, of course, going back to last Spring. When I saw the shortage, I was able to pick up some of my favourite Alliant powders, whereas the Hodgdon/IMR were already well picked-over. In general, the slower powders were also the first ones to disappear off the shelves, so I wonder if they'll be coincidentally be the last ones to return?

Could be. I hope they show up soon, I have a few rifles that work very well with the RL powders, 15, 19, 22, 25. And I'd like to try 16 and 26, if I could find some. - dan

Not new news at all. Vista has owned both, as well as a number of others, for years.

Agree, I haven't seen any Alliant rifle powder for sale at stores or privately, especially the 16, 19, 22, 23, 25, 26 and 33.........nothing!
