Powder Storage

Noob Here. What would be the proper way to store powder for reloading? What are the laws pertaining to this?

Leave it in the original container. Keep it cool & dry. It will last for decades this way.

Does it have to be locked up or secured in any way?

Currently it must be stored in a "reasonably secure" manner.
