Powder Suggestion:223 69grSMK

I did a search but came up empty.
I've been using Varget,but can,t find any lately.
I'm looking for a fairly easy to get powder.
I'm using a Savage Bolt action 1 to 9 twist.
and I've got a lot of the 69gr.SMK's.
.Anybody try or use Win748?

i prefer the 69 grn with varget but rel 15 works almost as well

VT 540 will work well with 69GR & 75gr

What a coincident.

I was just looking for a recipe for 223./69gr bullets, and came across 24.5gr of Reloader15 on the Alliant powder web page. I'm going to try them out on my Ruger Mini14 target.

I tried 5 different powders with 69gr SMK's and the best 2 powders I came up with were WIN 748, and Benchmark. Varget was third. That was in a Savage 10FP with a 1in9 barrel.

I've used Varget and Benchmark with good results.

4895, RL15, N140, 748 all work well. I have several 223 target rifles and each has its favorite powder/load, even though they all have the same make of barrel and are chambered from the same reamer.

Load is 25 gr and up. 748 measures perectly from a thrower. If you weigh charges, RL15 is excellent.
