Hi, I just got a 270WSM.
On hand I have the following powders that could suit that caliber: IMR4350, 4831 & 7828. Hogdgon H-1000. RL-17. W760.
I intend to shoot 140-150gr bullets, what are you suggesting I should start with?

Thanks!

59gr RL17 under 150gr bullet....also consider the 130gr Barnes TTSX it will out preform the 140-150gr conventional bullets with a flatter trajectory...........

I run 69.5 grains of 7828 in mine, or a similar load of Reloader 22 also git er dun, or 72-ish grains of Reloader 25 as well -- all using 130 grain bullets. Good for about 3350-ish FPS in my 24.4 inch Tikka T3 barrel (and the Reloader powders being the most accurate). So, out of what you got there -- I'd say reach for the 7828 and the H1000 1st.

I see lots of people recommending fast buring powders in the 270WSM -- I have yet to figure out why? You loose a lot of velocity compared to what you can do with a slower powder, your case fill is nowhere near 100%, and I have found in most cartridges (including the 270WSM) that a too-fast powder leads to sloppy accuracy, whereas running a slow-for-cartridge powder in a well compressed charge tends to be the 'money load'.

YMMV, I suppose.

I'm running IMR 4831 in my 270WSM, and getting 3330fps with 130's, a buddy is using IMR 7828 in his with 130's and he's getting 3315fps.
