powder suggestion for 40 smith and wesson

I tried n340 with hornady 180gr in my 40cals and I wasn't happy with the accuracy. I switched to n350 and got much better results. i'm using 6gr of n350 with the hornady and 4.7gr of n320 with 180gr berry.

My SIG likes 175gr SWCs and W231 (when I can find any of the old Excel bullets...and I just did so recently so I'm back to using this load for the time being). With 180 cast, I was using HS6, but have found SR4756 to work noticeably better.

I use 5.0g of N320 with my Frontier 180g bullets to make IPSC major loads.

I bought a magazine over the weekend on a whim called "Hand reloader" as they had a write up for loading for the .40. The FBI setteled on their favourite load which just happens to be 6.3 gr of power pistol behind a 180 gr JHP. They were getting velocity of around 1100 FPS and had the best overall accuracy.

If it's good enough for the FBI, should be good for me too! That's exactly the load I devoloped but used a TMJ and not a HP. I too noticed pretty good accuracy.

Yes pretty soft compared to the factory stuff that I was previously shooting.

hmmm I use 5.3 gr of unique behind a 175 cast bullet..hits 12" steel plates at 100 yrds
