Powder System on my dillon 550 is not working

I run Unique through my Dillon and if I set it, I throw a dozen or more charges and reweigh it. I do this for every adjustment. This way the powder settles down and you start getting consistent charges.

Is it brand new?
If so maybe a wipe down with rubbing alcohol then a rubdown with a dryer sheet. Sometimes I would even hang a strip of dryer sheet down into the powder container, held there under the powder container cap.

I actually switched to W231 for that caliber due to its ease of measuring.

Polish the charge bar faces then put a second charge bar return spring on to assure the charge bar returns to its original postion each time you cycle the loading lever.

If he has the "fail safe" version of powder measure linkage, no spring should be required and he won't know what you are sugesting. My newest press (8 yrs old) didn't even come with any springs and I've loaded more than 35 k rounds with it without a mechanical issue with it. (can't say the same for "operator efficiency).
My older press has the springs with it. I use them, but if the linkage is set properly I have tried it without and it still works.

I talked with Dillon, and they told me to ship the powder system to them and they will see what's going on with it. They have also told me that they will change it over if I want so I can install a "fail safe" kit as the press I have is an old one
