Can a gunsmith re-blue over a parkerized finish or powdercoat???

anyone ever had a brs-99 / uzi style firearm refinished???

what is sufficent to do?? my local gunsmith will powdercoat it but iam scared the finish will be too thick??? he sais it wont be a problem he has been doing it for 20 years

what do i do ??? iam looking for a cost effective alternative for re finishing a parkerized style firearm???

any ideas???
thanks

canadian tire sells a reblueing kit that you can do yourself and comes with metal cleaner with some time and patience i think you could probably do it yourself cheap.(if anyone has something better plz add)

if the current finish is park, it is best to repark. To blue it, rather than-reblue, which require carding or polishing, unless you want a matt finish.

It could also be blasted and finished in black oxide.

"...re-blue over..." No. Bluing is a chemical rust preventative that goes on bare metal. Parkerizing is a coating. Powder coating is baked on powdered paint that isn't a firearm finish.
"...Uzi style firearm..." Prohibited. Unless you have proper permit, no smithy will touch it.
