Where can a person get powdered graphite for neck lube? I know i could get the redding/imperial kit but i was wondering where i could get it otherwise. The only stuff ive seen is in aerosol cans? Is that the only way to get it?

Thanks

Canadian Tire, Home Depot and other hardware stores often sell little squeeze tubes of it in the key cutting area. It is useful for lubricating locks.

The best tip I have heard for finding it in quantity was that farmer supply stores sometimes have it in big bottles, like one litre or 1kg or something, for use as a seed lubricant in planting machines.

+1 on Farm supply store, indeed used as seed lubricant.
Got a large bottle (about 1 ltr) for around ten bucks.
Will last me a few lifetimes :)

Graphite mixed with lead shot was recommended but I don't find it to be any better.
Mica in the Lyman brush set is no better.
Maybe pitch the mica and replace it with graphite might be worth a try.
No problem with the resizing but looking for less resistance when extracting the expander.
Back to lubricating the inside of the neck with a nylon brush.
