I have a Hornady LnL AP which I have been using to load 9mm. The only problem I was having with it was getting the PTX (powder through expander) to bell the mouth of the case. The old style one (does not stick out the bottom of the powder measure as far as the new ones) I had would put a nice bell on the case, but was hit and miss because it was to short and would not always do a full stroke on the powder measure. This caused me to have to hold the bullets in the case on the up stroke. I bought a new one, which will do a full stroke on the powder measure, but had no flare to bell the mouth of the case. You could set it on a table, put a resized case on it an wack it with a hammer and no bell. After much back and forth with Hornady, which included sending back 2 PTX's, they claimed they were all in spec and worked fine. So I finally bought a PTX from powderfunnels.com. Just did a 100 rounds and have to say this thing works awsome. It puts just enough bell so the bullets sit nice in the case.
This is not a rant about Hornady, they tried to be helpful, but with all the stuff on the internet about there PTX not working, you think they might go Hmmmmmmm.
Anyway this thing seems to work. Going to be setting up to do 40 S&W soon, will let you know how it works out.
