Powders Good For Various Calibers?

Hey I'm new to reloading and am trying to figure out what powders and bullets to start with. I am reloading 9mm and 45acp right away and 40 s&w in future. just wondering what everyone is using and what would be good for all 3 calibers.

I know that Win 231 will work for the 9mm and the 45ACP, but I have not loaded for the 40 S&W.

Compare loads in a good manual.

Bullseye works well for 9mm and .45ACP. Don't load the S&W either, but there are loads on Alliant's site.

I have used Win 231 in them all and it does the job.

I like using Titegroup for 9mm and .40 S&W. I have no clue if it's good for 45.

I use Accurate Arms #5 for 9mm Luger, 40 S&W and 45 ACP loads. Burn rate similar to Unique but in a ball powder form, which allows smooth metering through my powder measure.

I've used titegroup and longshot in all three and they both work just fine.

Titegroup, Universal, Unique, 231. Works for 9, 40 and 45.

I use Titegroup for all 3. The only thing with TG is that lead bullets will be a bit smokey. One of the nicer things is that it goes a long way in that you dont need much volume in the case.

i have another question about powders. where can i get them online since i just found out my local retailer doesn't carry very many powders at all so i am probably gonna have to deal online.
