Why would you need "Powerful" ammo? Imo there is no such thing as pistol break in for modern pistol designs; this ain't a 1911. Load some mags and shoot 9mm 124gr should do the job...

The recoil spring on my P30L was pretty strong and it took a couple of range trips to get it to eject to the side instead of coming back at me. I used 124 grain factory ammo and it runs fine now. This condition is quite common if you check the H&K forums the solution is to just get some range time in.
I don't know if it's a German thing or just that the "flat" spings are stronger by design but I found my PPQ took some time to "break in" as well.
