Has anyone ever seen or done a PPC case (.445" rim) on a T3 action?
I am specifically thinking of it functioning on a .308 (.473") bolt face. I have read of Remingtons and Savages that work with that case on a .473" bolt face. I pushed a 6.5Grendel case onto the bolt of T3 6.5x55 (.480" rim) and the extractor grabs the rim. If you move the case away from the extractor it loses the grip, but when centered its fine.
Feeding seems to present no issues. A friend of mine fed a 6PPC from his .223 magazine and it worked well. I can fit and feed 6.5 Grendel from my 6.5x55 Swede mag (althought its too long, a .22-250/.243/.308 mag would be better).
One could always just ream a .223 bolt face, but I am curious about the function and reliability on a .308 face. It seems that it might work OK?
Thoughts, experiences?
Thanks
