Hello Im not sure if I should have put this under handguns, gunsmithing or milsurps, but here goes. I have a ppk in .32 in beautiful shape that fails to completely extract the fired casing. This happens about once a mag. I have tried cleaning it and changing ammo. It does it on all 3 mags. Is there anything I could try to fix or check on it? Should I just order new springs from wolf gun spring? Thanks

It happens randomly, but seems to be getting worse. Im going to clean it one more time but it looks spotless. Like I say its a beautiful little gun and surprisingly very accurate.

Is the recoil spring on backwards? That's the number one cause of problems with PP/PPk's. the narrow end goes on toward the breach, the wide end toward the muzzle. The same thing happened to one of Princess Anne's BG's in the '70's - for the same reason.

Maybe Im not explaining what its doing right. I should have used failure to eject not extract, sorry.
Once fired the spent casing jams the slide open as it fails to completly eject. By pulling back on the slide it clears the fired casing.
Thanks

i had that happen with some u.s. manufactured fmj loads. no problems with european ammo like S&B, and a couple others. they had noticably more recoil.

That was the problem. Picked up some S&B ammo and problem went away.
Thanks

I've come late to this thread , but I had the same problem as you . I've got an early war PPK in 32 . While at the range , I tried out a box of Winchester , with the same results as you . Fortunately , I also had some S&B with me which functioned perfectly , problem solved . Like yours , mine is surprisingly accurate , great little pistols .
