Can I do this? I have a PPK but I wanted a PPK/S. I know where there's a PP in the same calibre. Also how do you remove the barrel?

I belive the slide should work. To remove the barrel its probly best to strip the frame so as not to damage any other parts. There is a pin holding the barrel to the frame, remove the pin with a puch, the barrel is then removed by pushing it from the muzzel end of the barrel. The frame usually needs to be held securly to do this while you place a block of wood on the end of the barrel and tap it with a hammer, very often a press is rquired to remove the barrel.

When you replace the barrel its just the reverse procedure for the most part, however make sure the you properly line up the cutout for the ejector.

Swapping top ends of PPs and PPKs depends on when they were made. If they are both from the same period, it shouldn't be a problem. Slight manufacturing variances over time can make swapping a problem, but theoretically they should swap easily enough. Removing the barrel can be a problem. The barrels on both are pinned, and if they're old, they may be really stuck. Unless you have some experience in doing work like that, it might be best to have a true gunsmith do the work.

Hey Monkeyboy,

You know I have a PPK, why didn't you just call me and ask? I have stipped mine down to the nitty gritty, almost as simple as a 1911.

Bring me your gun, I will fix it for you!
