There are a lot of interesting posts about the P30 and the PPQ,b ut even though they are supposed to be pretty accurate, I was wondering if anybody got target gun accuracy out of these two models? I am talking about match type performance, assuming the shooter can do it, to consistently shoot 142 to 148 points out of 150 possible, at 25 m, olympic pistol target, and lets say no time limit?
I know this is more the domain of .22 target pistols, but I used to have an older H&K P9S target im 9 mm and is was dead accurate. It was pretty stupid of me to sell it...
Looking forward to your input!

I have yet to fire the PPQ, But I own a p99, and the ppq is just a stripped down, basic version of the p99.

mine is a 9mm with the AS trigger, and no matter how badly I am shooting on a specific day some how I can always pick up my p99 and put 10 in the black at 25m.

for whatever it is worth, my p99 is the most accurate pistol I own. I think it has something to do with the way it fits in my hand as compared to my glock, 1911 or any other pistol.

But, just my 2 cents.. That gun always seems to out shoot me. Hope this helps.

PPQ looks stripped down but possesses a superb single action only trigger that breaks earlier and cleaner than the P99. Both guns are superbly accurate...I outshot custom pistols with an early p99 a decade ago. Shawnsglock is very right about how the grip on the Walther allows a very consistent trigger pull. When I shot my friends' P30 I found it's inherent accuracy was as good as the PPQ but the PPQ trigger allowed me to access that accuracy more consistently than with the P30.

My P30L is accurate but I don't think I could get better than a 2" group. From the bench you might get 1.5" or so, good by service pistol standards but I think if you are looking for a target pistol you'd be disappointed.

Heres a trip back in time to the P30 endurance test by Todd Green with accuracy notes: http://pistol-training.com/archives/2069

Thanks for your input guys! The P30 seems to fit my hand a little bit better and seems to better align with my wrist, but that could change from recoil during actual shooting. I like both pistols, but I will try to test shoot them before deciding for one.
On the other side, I kind of developed a fondness for the Walter.
As the song goes: "If I were a rich man..." - I could buy them both and have fun!
