Has anyone tried the PPU .224 45 gr. SP bullets? Price is good ( by today`s standards) and they are available. They could prove useful in a .222 Rem.

I never tried any of the .224 bullets, so cannot speak from experience.
However, my 303 loves their 180 grain SP bullet, (under moa), so if that
is any indication, I would say try a few, and if they work - great!! Dave.

Thanks Dave, I have had good success with PPU brass but never tried any of their bullets yet.

I have shot more than 3000 of the 55gr sp PPU bullets in a 223. I have also used the .308 150gr SP extensively as well.

Excellent performance on varmints, and excellent accuracy with-in 250y with the .224 projectiles.

I have no experience with the 45gr projectiles you're considering.

Cheers

Thanks for the info. I plan on trying them in a .22 K-Hornet and .222 Rem as "gopher" loads. PPU appears to have a decent reputation and they have been in the game a long time, I believe they are one of the largest in Europe. A site sponsor is selling them at a decent price and I like to experiment so I believe I will try them.

Your experience with PPU bullets is much better than mine. I don't even bother with them anymore because of the poor results I've had with them.

Maybe they've cleaned up their manufacturing processes over the past five or so years.

I'm with bearhunter, I've shot PRVI projos' in a number of calibers and it was always an exercise in frustration. Inconsistent in sizes and weights.
No problem if you don't worry about flyers, I still shoot some but they are relegated to 100yd "blaster" ammo.
