PPU 8x57 100rd ball bulk pk

New commercial ammo is ALMOST always non corrosive. Military primers, especially Warsaw Pact types, are Berdan primers which are designed to be more reliable in extreme conditions. Western ammunition plants went to Boxer primers in the middle of WW2.

You're new here. I've known tiriaq for decades. Yes, he is a great source of information. In this instance, in my experience, PPU in Canada is Boxer primed, non corrosive.

PPU is a Serbian company that runs its ammo plants flat out to feed the commercial ammunition supply. Thirty years ago the Former Yugoslavia broke up and all sides used whatever guns they had. The availability of surplus ammunition meant a lot got shot up. No national armouries depend on WW2 cartridge small arms like MG42s and Mausers. Make a formula of time, distance, supply, manufacture, demand, and marketing.

Actually, I'll temper my snark with a second comment. Cleaning prevents rusted bores. If you have a habit to clean any barrel within 12 hrs of firing, and then go back in a week, there won't be any damage. I use Hoppe's No.9 solvent to remove fouling, and Automatic Transmission Fluid as a storage barrier layer.

I doubt that the current Prvi Partizan company is selling any surplus military ammunition. But the company has been around for quite a while, and manufactured military ammunition. One headstamp they previously used was in Cyrillic script, looks like "nny".
