Hi all
I am posting this here so all milsurp enthusiast will see it. The Province of Québec Rifle Association is presenting again this year a milsurp shooting day, Sunday June 2nd. If you ever wondered what your old gun can do at a distance, now will be the time to try it. Last year we had a lot of fun. Going back 100 yards at a time makes it easy to stay in the target. I was amazed to see what my Longbranch could do. I even won in the "as issued" category.
Course of fire is like this.
200 yards 4 sighter 15 for score
300 yards 4/15
400 yards 4/15
600 yards 4/15
Friendly competition at 600 yards 4/15
60$ for the day.
You will need around 100 cartridges for the day.

As far as what is permitted, any non-restricted milsurp gun made between 1914 and 1953. Lee Enfields, Mosin Nagant, Swiss stuff, etc. If in doubt just ask. There are mainly 2 classes, the "as issued" and the other class that the official designation escapes me at the moment, let's call it "sniper", where all of you with original or repro sniper scopes, micrometer sight (parker hale stuff) will be playing. You can shoot with a sling, you can lay your rifle on your backpack, no bipods please. M305, Garands are permitted also. Sporterised milsurp are welcomed as well, as long as there is no scope with a greater magnification that 4 or 5 (to stay in the spirit of things...)
Info about how to pay and when will be out shortly, I'll keep you posted. Match will be held at the Batoche Range, Valcartier Base near Québec City.
Hope to see you there for a great day of shooting
