Praises for a fine fellow - who sent me a No1 MkV SMLE!

Hi folks,

Thought I should share this one with you, since, well, we too often hear bad stories, so a good one could be welcome?

Never dealt with this fellow before; thanks to him I was able to acquire a SMLE No1 MkV.

Yes, a MkV as in "Five"; in-between model which contributed to the development of the No4.

Kevin Roberts, who works for a shop in Calgary and posts stuff for sale on their website (the canadian soldier dot com);the guy really impressed me with his willingness to make sure my experience was way beyond satisfactory. So, thumbs up, Kevin. Thanks again for this.

Some pics! The gun isn't perfect, but still, it's a MkV. 2016 is starting on a good note.

Well it's been used and shows some sings of it; so a shooter, not a museum piece; But the bore is great, and it's all number matched. Can't wait to see how she shoots.

Keep us posted . To be honest , I'd rather have a shooter than a museum piece that I was afraid to shoot .

That rear sight is something else, I don't think I've seen too many close ups of the one on the Mk V. Does it have a catch on the side like a P14 rear?

Bingo! Nice rifle to have in the pile. It now has a safe home. Whether it gets shot or not is your affair. I have a few milsurps that I haven't fired, and a few that I won't be firing.

I think there's a couple down near the bottom that I might dig out and shoot.
