I picked up 2 boxes of federals prarie storm 2 3/4" #5s yesterday for my savage 24 22/20ga which has a cylinder bore. Patterning before the best results I could get were Remington pheasent loads with 58% inside a 30" circle at 30 yds. After trying the prarie storm today I am getting 79% at 30 yds and 76% at 35 yds. I can't believe the tight patterns these shells give. At 30 yds the wad was going right through the cardboard. They do have quite a bit more recoil than any other 1oz shells I have tried but with patterns like that I can put up with it. I want to try them further out to see what they do. I just thought I would share this for anybody else on here with cylinder bore shotguns looking for tighter patterns.
