Hey guys a few weeks back I picked up a 53 or 54 model 70 in 270, she had been handcuffed and under a bed for the last 10-15 years, I figuring myself noble paid the ransom and now she figures I own her... haha k all joking aside it was fairly dirty... no rust thank god but dirty, as all hell I stripped it down as far as I could remember, from my days of owning mil mausers but didnt feel comfy screwing around with the shroud, and firing pin I now feel it needs a complete stripping. ... so uh any help videos or explanations how I can do this... I also want to take the safety paddle out as well.

I got smarter when I reassembled it - I cut the neck off a 300 WM brass, then drilled out the base of the case with a 9/16 bit. After that I cut down the centre of the case from the base towards the neck and then cut in from the side to create a notch. Hope that makes sense. This allows you to put the spring washer on top of the spring which you can then compress with the base of the brass. Once you have it compressed you can reinstall the retaining C washer, then you just have to wiggle the piece of brass free.
