Pre-64 Model 70 Stock replacement

Buddy had a pre-64 with a trashed stock....any ideas where to find a replacement?

How bad is the stock? It may be worth restoring if it just has some scratches and dings. Otherwise, there are a couple stock makers that make stocks for the pre-64 Model 70:

-McMillan makes a fiberglas stock
-Accurate Innovations makes a wood stock with an aluminum bedding chassis

Real Pre-64 or a Classic? If the stock is completely screwed but the rifle is in nice shape pay a good stockmaker to carve a new one out of nice wood. If the rifle's a beater for hunting you can get a synthetic stock and not look back.

Chris Wilcox in Cherryville does nice walnut stocks. About 150$ to start then goes up from there....he's in the vernon phone book
