Hey Guys

Quick question for you lever action experts. I recently bought a couple pre 64 Winchester 94s in really nice shape. One of them has a fairly deep groove worn in the bottom of the lever where it hits the trigger lock pin. The pin is fairly stiff and pushes right on the edge of the lever when it is being depressed. When the lever is all the way up and the action is completely closed the pin is not covered totally by the lever. There is a flat on the underside of the lever that looks like the spot that should bear on the pin as the action is closed. The pin on this gun contacts right on the edge of the lever and a little bit off that flat and then slides towards the flat as it is depressed. This has caused a groove to be worn in the lever itself. The gun functions fine but is this a common/normal problem? Or is this even a problem and maybe nothing to worry about?!? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply Mike. This gun looks like it has hardly been shot and is not a well used rifle in the least. Is this an alignment problem between the pin and the flat on the lever or is the lever a little soft? Just curious as the gun looks mint.
