Pre-81 BLR Mag Disassembly

Does anyone know how to take these apart? All I could find in the field manual is an exploded view. I tried pushing down on that detent but it doesn't move. Is that what I need to free up?

Is that a detent or a rivet? The schematic does not show a spring for the ball. I would try and depress the very back of the follower to try and get the front of the follower a little further back of the mag box where it is a bit wider and then it may come out as you depress the spring from below .

It's just a rivet.

I got it out. Push down on the back of the follower, then pry the spring up at the front and then turn/pull.

you may not have to pry it, just try and get the front of the follower up and back so it can be slid out of the box, the spring should follow along. Be careful not to break the spring by horsing it around.
You should not twist it, just back of the follower down..front of the follower up and back a bit
