Hi all,

If and when the RCMP decides to check their fax machine and approve my restricted license I'm probably going to buy a TT-33. For $170 how could I not?

Question: just what is the difference(s) between the pre and post-war models (other than age obviously lol)? Is one better than the other in terms of quality of workmanship? Which would you recommend?

All responses much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Buy new chinese ones or yougo from Marstar or Tradeex. For shooting. If you want collectors piece, then look for WW2 dated ones. WW2 toks are rough and may require some gunsmithing or TLC as they were made during times when attention to details was not much important. Some Polish toks are good buy as well. Price may varry a bit but not by much. There is lots of options there available, even in 9mm now a days. Ammo in 7.62 is getting expensive, so stock up when you can.

I picked up a post war 1947 took from wolverine a couple years ago which was not refurbed and brand new in the grease. The fit/finish is outstanding and tight as can be. Good shooter with some history. I had a 1943 which was pretty rough but nothing wrong. Weimajack occasionally has nice ones. The polish ones are even more beautifully made though.
