(sorry but title should be pre 66 vs post 66) :D

I lucked out at the gunshow the other day, and found a pre 66 carrier to replace the troublesome one I had in my 1967 model 94, 30/30 Winchester. I wasn't sure if it would work in my rifle, but I got the part for only $10.00! :dancingbanana:

Before installing it I decided to take pics of both to share with you folks.
IMHO The pre 66 unit is a fine piece of quality kit made out of a solid block of steel.
With the post 66 unit a stamped out piece of junk, I've seen better parts in Chinese rifles.

BTW my 94 was a pain to work on for the first time into her, but I'm glad I found this helpful winchester site listed here from a fellow CanGunnut.

My rifle now functions smooth, and solid. :)

I've never had a problem with the stamped lifter in my post '64, but I'm sure I have both pre '64, and later solid post '64 lifters in my odds 'n' ends box if I need one. Never tried to install one from a different vintage, glad to hear that they will interchange.

It was pretty tight putting the carrier bolt back in, and I had to do it first before the other bolts, but I'm also glad to see it fit. :)
