Hello - I am looking for an instructor to teach one on one basic rifle and scope use in the Ottawa area.

Instructor should be comfortable teaching the following:

A class for the true beginner
Learn all aspects of long range shooting
How to select calibers
Reticle choices
Understand scope manipulation, what happens when you turn a turret
How to mount a scope
Mils, MOA, Ballistic, BDC
Ballistic engine explanation
Safety
Shooting Fundamentals
Zeroing

Check out the ORA winter intro course. It teaches all of those things. The instructor is an accomplished long range shooter. Next course sign up I think is around October.

Learn by doing and asking a lot of questions.

They offer training packages suited to whatever you need.

Justin (owner) is very experienced and has many contacts including instructors and manufacturers.

Thank you for the information gentlemen - I will be looking into the options above.
As for those interested in the course, I will PM you when I have a potential course set up this way we can make a small group and save on cost.
